Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Review
My Opinion
This Samsung Galaxy S10 plus is an innovation in the sense that it doesn’t follow the sameness of the last few models of Samsung handsets. The screen, a 6.4-inch size is massive it displaces the front camera. The triple rear lens camera was designed to take ultra-wide photos, even though they are hidden because the fingerprint sensor is a hidden feature. The power to share wireless comes with lots of beautiful features
Benefits
- Great for screen to body ratio
- In screen fingerprint sensor
- Wireless power share perk
- A long battery’s life span
- Bigger and better version compared to other models
This phone provides a new definition of what the word phablet is all about in 2019. The Samsung next generation of infinity – O display and the 6.4 – inch edge to edge screen plus the punch hole design for the front cameras makes this device outstanding.
The screen to body ration is 93.1 %, the pixel stretches from the small top speaker to the thin bottom chin and spill over the curved edges to the left and right. The glass is loaded underneath with and ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor at the front, and at the back is a 4,100mAh battery plus the new wireless power share feature. This helps to top up other wireless charging devices.
Located at the smooth looking back, of the device is the triple lens camera that includes a small camera bump. You’re able to take normal shot and an ultra-wide shot, this capture a wider image without the support of a backup.
The new infinity – O display is behind the standout screen size; the South Korean Company did not use a notch cut out across the latest devices, but opted for a laser cut hole at the top right-hand corner. The two-front facing camera with the second RGB camera is better for portrait selfie compared to the single lens front facing camera of Samsung S10 AND S10 E. The punch hole on the S10 plus takes up a little more space compared to other models.
The front two cameras aligns with the notification bar therefore not in the way when it comes to usage such as:
- Web browsing
- Social media
- Emails
- Etc
Most Samsung phone users do agree that the S10 plus is not only bigger than the S10 but better as well. Another plus to this phone is the fact that it gives a new definition to the term phablet in 2019 due to the 6.4 edge to edge screen. There’ also been debates about this phone being much better than the iPhone counterpart.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Review – Design
Looking at the phone from a distance one could be deceived that it’s the same design as S10 however there are major improvements to this phone. The Aluminium frame is thinner compared to the S9 plus. The front and the back cover with Gorilla glass while the 512GB and 1TB versions were supported by ceramic in either black or white.
The other glass comes in prism white, black and green which comes with a 128GB storage. Research shows that more people are inclined to buy this version. The back of the phone is almost flush combined with a triple set of cameras with a subtle bump.
Instead of being at the right top corner, which is popular with a lot of smartphones, the camera’s centralised position is at the rear of the phone. It sits nicely on the surface with a polished appearance.
You can perform an invisible trick with the fingerprint sensor something you might want to show off. Samsung’s fingerprint sensor returns to the original flagship after a two-year hiatus. The sensor is embedded under the glass display.
The fingerprint 3D scan does allow more unlock and more secured compare to the optimal scanners of Huawei 20 and one plus 6T. The sensor keeps working even if your finger or the screen is either cold or wet because of the ultrasound technology. The downside is the fingerprint scanner is a bit slow to recognise your print at optical readers outside of the display.
You’ll have to apply more pressure on the fingerprint scanner compare to an optical one with your finger in the right position or else it won’t work. You’ll find a fingerprint guide on the screen pointing to where your digits should be.
You have the option of scanning and face recognition; the face recognition is quicker, but the downside, you must maintain a focus on your phone and it’s less secured.
The Phone Measure:
- 6 X 74.1 X 7.8mm
- Almost the same dimension with S9 plus
- A bit shorter compared to other models
- Wider compared to other models
- Thinner and lighter
- Feels better while holding
- 3% screen to body ratio
A case is needed for the phone because the glass and metal finish offer a little grip, two hands are needed frequently to secure the phone especially when typing. I guess the more you get used to the phone the better and might be able to operate with one hand over time.
The power/lock key on the right side is a little high up which makes it a bit difficult to hit with ease and sometimes the phone might be shimmy in the hand to reach. On the left side the volume rocker sits above a dedicated key smart assistant – Bixby. A press launches the assistance straight away, giving you quick access to voice commands and the Bixby screen. The 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the bottom of the phone alongside the USB – port.

The punch hole comes with an extra-large hole in the display because Samsung fixed two cameras to better portraits selfie. This gives the phone an edge over Galaxy S10 and S10E front cameras and it’s not a distraction.
Full HD is the resolution by default, but can be cranked to QHD+ and its pin sharp with HDR10+ for superior contrast and colour. This is an important perk for movie lovers who loves watching movies on their phones.
A drawback is the chipping away bezels, it leads to encroaching palms, making false touches on the sensitive screen, especially when you’re typing. This often flips the on-screen keyboard between letters and numbers to output a bunch of gobbledygook embarrassing messages.
The new look for the Samsung phones in 2019 is the infinity – O display, which is enough for the change that people has been yearning for its looks:
- Fantastic
- Bright colours
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Review – The reproduction offers best:
- Images
- Icons
- Apps
- Games
- Videos
The easy to navigate apps are fully loaded gives it an edge over the Google’s more bare bones camera app. There are lovely features such as being able to flip between the main and the front cameras by swapping on the screen. You can also take a selfie with gesture because of its simplicity. All you need to do id open your arm, form a fist and the countdown timer will start rolling.
The new scene optimize is the extra category which enables the AI to tell the difference between a cat and a dog. Another addition is for example to fine tune image settings it was discovered that it’s smart enough to recognise the main subject in a busy scene and brightens things up as little as appropriate.
There’s also the shot suggestion hints that fixes photos by using the phone’s neural processing unit. (NPU). It’s real time tips levels the shots and frame subjects which is helpful with an on screen reticle to centre group shots properly.
In Conclusion
Samsung is one of the manufacturers still producing the standard headphone jack and trying to sell its wireless buds. They’ve probably done their research and found out that their customer prefers both based on preferences. The S10 plus is a hallmark feature in rival handset plus a dose of first to launch aspects such as WI-FI 6 and HDR10+ screen. It’s one of the best complete packages among the big expensive smartphones.
