WHAT IS A TABLET?

A TAB as refer to by the many users is nothing but a computing device that gives you the flexibility of working from any point or location.

You might argue that a laptop is also a mobile computer which I completely agree with but can’t be compared with the TAB.

It has many things to offer which the laptop cannot, one of the features of the TAB that makes it so attractive is the touch screen.

I have to conclude that TABs strikes the balance between a desktop and a laptop and this is what makes the TAB a unique brand in their own rights. It’s no doubt that the demand for TAB also known as tablet computers has exploded within the last few years.

Everywhere you go you are bound to find a couple of people or more lost in the world of TAB, be it at the airport, in the park or inside the public transport.

For instance, rather than having to get on your computer, open the web browser and having to log into my email account, all I did was download the mail app to my TAB.

As stated above the TAB is in between a desktop and a laptop, the first thing that made me fell in love with this device is the portability.

I strongly believe that this is one of the major reasons the sales of TAB has gone up because it creates a life of convenience; it is much easier to carry around compare to a laptop.

The TABS are outselling normal computers because of its portability, being able to move around with it easily and allowing one to do some work on the move gives it an edge over the home computers and even laptops.

THE VARIOUS SIZES AND MODELS.

There are various sizes and models to choose from, your choice will depend on your taste and there are also different specs, the major difference with the various specs are the newer the better.

Every manufacturer who wants to keep pleasing their customers will continue to produce better products and Samsung is not left out.

Your choice depends on your taste, for instance, if you buy the 10inch size you will get a bigger screen compare to the 7inch.

One of the latest ones is the Galaxy s111 and it’s about 5inch but can also be used as a telephone without a Bluetooth device.

If you plan on using the 7inch or 10inch as a phone then you will have to get the Bluetooth device simply because of their sizes.

HIGH RESOLUTION DISPLAY.

It is a popular saying that we must not judge a book by its cover, but this is something pretty difficult to resist, as in the case of the galaxy TAB.

The higher resolution, which is more or less like a book cover on the galaxy TAB makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

Let me clarify what I understand by the word high resolution, it has to do with the sharpness of the image display on the screen, think about watching a blurry or an unfocused image on a computer screen.

It is nothing but a big turn off because the graphics are not vividly displayed, apart from that, blurry images are not good for the eyes.

The Samsung galaxy Tab has a very high resolution in order words, the higher the resolution the sharper the images will be, furthermore the images are also small which means that you are getting more on the screen.

DUAL CORE PROCESSOR.

I once read a story of a man who had his food inside the microwave and was also telling the microwave to hurry up; this blatantly shows that nobody wants to wait any longer.

When buying a computer one of the things an average person is looking out for is the speed of the machine, the dual core processor of a computer is an indication to how fast the PC is.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab contains a dual processor, which is the mechanism that determines the performance of the TAB.

A dual processor means that there are two computer processors and the advantages of having two are making it more efficient, running at a very high speed, boosting the performance of the system through multitasking computing power.

Dual core processor functions are based on two cores instead of one in conjunction with an independent interface; this enables them to have sufficient resources to handle multitasking.

PIXELS.

Some people can do a lot of stuff on their mobile phone, I have tried a few times to get used to going on social networking sites on my mobile phone, but because of the size of the phone I find it difficult rumbling round the screen, this prompted me to go for the Samsung TAB, as a result of this I am more up to date with my various tasks.

If you get the 10 inch, it comes with an LCD screen of 1024×600 pixel resolutions. Pixels in a lay man’s language mean computerized images that are made up of small squares of digital information with colour value.

Pixels sizes normally depends on the resolution of the image, for instance, a file with a resolution of 100 pixels per inch will have larger pixels than a file of 200 pixels per inch. The S111 has better pixels because it keeps getting better with new innovations.

THE FLASH CONTENT.

Some of the TAB in the market lacks the ability to show flash content; I personally believe this restriction was put in place for some TAB in order for users not to be allowed to view certain content; this is a way of protecting users.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has another advantage over other brands of tablet computer. The advantage is the ability to show flash content on websites.

When the flash is permitted, web browsing is unrestricted and far more comprehensive. This advantage is just one of many it has to offer.

This lightweight and powerful tablet computer has taken the market by storm and its many features are not only impressive, they are practical as well.

The best thing about flash content is you are provided with an option of listing a site has been trusted or not, since you have this control, I believe there’s nothing wrong with having the flash content.

OTHER FEATURES.

The Samsung galaxy tab can be used to send email messages, SMS which stands for short message service and MMS which means multimedia messaging service and video conference.

Apart from the communication system other features include global system for mobile communications network connections which also supports HSDPA. HSDPA stands for mobile telephony communications protocol.

Global positioning system (GPD) is also integrated with different applications, such as places you might want to visit, the location of the nearest bank and many more.

Connecting to the internet with the aid of WIFI helps bring the whole world to your world. Not too many buttons are displayed on the external part of the TAB just the power on and off and volume adjustments.

The accelerometer function is to detect the position of the device and synchronizes the screen orientation according to the position of the device.

So if the position of the device is portrait, the screen will change to portrait orientation, and vice versa. Instead, the screen-lock function is available in Notification window.

The placement of this function in the notification window makes it is easier to lock the screen. It is different from Android standard setting which usually puts the menu in the window Settings> Display.

The accelerometer function is fairly responsive because the slightest change in orientation will make the screen immediately follow. Other sensor that is available in Tab is “proximity” that adjusts screen brightness according to condition around us automatically.

MOBILE PHONE.

You can use the tab as a mobile phone because it comes with a SIM card slot; if you want to use it as a mobile outside the house, then you are better off getting a Bluetooth device to go with it. The 5 inch one can be used as a phone without the aid of a blue tooth.

You don’t really need the Bluetooth indoors because you could easily use the phone services with the aid of the built in speakers.

Bear in mind that the mobile phone services has only worked in certain countries, it will be wise to double check if you are really interested in using it as a mobile phone.

STORAGE FACILITIES.

The 7inch Samsung Galaxy Tab has 16 GB internal capacity storage, there is also an extra slot for up to 32 GB memory card, and if your expectations are higher it is worth checking the storage capacity of the 5inch, 10 inch as this might be different from the 7 inch.
